How can I join a team and play soccer?

 

Get in contact with us, the best time is at the begining of the year (around Febuary or March) before the soccer season starts.  The club will be happy to take your contact details and get back to you when we are taking registrations for the coming season.

 

Can anyone play soccer?

 

The club has teams starting from 5th grade (age 5) upwards (from time to time the club accepts applications for players who are under the age of 5, please contact us if you have a child under 5 that you would like to play soccer), and is represented in the junior grades, youth grades, senior mens divisions, and the senior ladies divisions.

 

What do I need to play for Otahuhu United?

 

You will need to supply your own boots, socks, and shorts.  The socks and shorts will need to be in the club colours, yellow for the socks and green for the shorts.  The club will supply your shirt.  You will also need to pay your playing fees to join a team.

How much are the playing fees?

 

The playing fees vary from season to season, but are currently 

 

5th Grade $40.00
6th Grade $60.00
7th Grade to 11th Grade $70.00
12th Grade to 17th Grade $90.00
Senior Mens and Woman $2900.00 Per team (Conditions apply)

Does the club give a family discount?

 

Yes it does.  The family discount is $180.00 per season if you have 3 or more children under the age of 18 and still at school, or $140.00 per season if you have 2 children under the age of 18 and still at school.

 

The family discount does not apply to senior grades.


Otahuhu United reserves the right to change or alter the fees, discounts and any applicable conditions pertaining to the fees, and discounts, without notification to any person(s) or entity, and the above mentioned prices are not binding on the club or committee of Otahuhu United.

 

Can I join Otahuhu United if I do not want to play in a team?

 

Yes you can.  You can become an associate member of the club.  The cost for an associate member is currently $50.00 per season.

Am I able to progress through the club to your first team?

 

Yes you can.  Players can start playing at the junior or youth grades and progress through the clubs teams.  Our first mens team represents the club in the Northern League championship, while our reserves team represents the club in the Super Division, and our first ladies team represents the club in the ladies division 1 championship.

 

What playing facilities are available at Seaside Park?

 

The club has available to it, a dedicated training ground with floodlights, a sand pitch (our number 1 full size field), 3 other full size grounds, a three-quarter size pitch, and 2 sets of changing facilities.  If you are visiting us in the near future, have a look at our 'Seaside Park Map' to help you locate your field.

 

Does Otahuhu United have its own referees?

  

Yes it does.  The club has been actively involved in the Club Based Referees program, many of the clubs Club Based referees have gone on to become Level 1 referees.  As a result, the club has several Club Based referees, and several referees who are Level1 or higher.

 

Can I go on and become a referee through the club?

  

Yes you can.  From time to time if number warrent the club will run a referees course, this is down in conjunction with the Auckland Football Federation Referees association.  Applicants can become Club Based referees, or become level 1 referees and apply for membership with the Auckland Football Federation Referees association.  If the club itself does not hace sufficant numbers to run a course, the club can get those interested on a referees course being held at other venues.
