OTAHUHU
UNITED AFC
SUMMER SOCCER
LEAGUES
2009/10
Competition
Format:
The
competition will commence on Thursday November 2nd,
2006.
It
will consist of two leagues, a Mixed League and a
Men’s League.
Each
league will be limited to 8 teams per league. There will
be a maximum limit of 14 named players in each team,
with only 10 players able to play in any particular
week. The players will need to be named on the entry
form prior to the start of the competitions. Only named
players are able to participate.
The
kick-off times will be 06:30 pm for the Mixed League and
07:15 pm for the Men’s League. Each game will be for
the duration of 20 minutes each way, a total of 40
minutes per game. There will be no half-time, a straight
turn-around will be enforced.
Teams
must be ready to begin at least 5 minutes prior to the
scheduled start.
The
two leagues will be run on a “home and away” basis
with each team playing every other team twice during the
competition, once before Christmas and once afterwards.
This will mean that where there is a clash of team
colours, the first named team will be the “home”
team, this will make the away team change their strip
for that game.
Teams
must nominate, in the entry form, the colour of their
main strip.
Entry
fees will be $350 per team. This equates to $25 per
player in a squad of 14 players. Team fees MUST be paid
by the start of the leagues. Entries will be accepted in
the order received. In the event of more than eight
teams seeking entry, priority will be given to the teams
that have paid their entry fee.
Competition
Dates:
As
stated above, the leagues will commence on Thursday
November 2nd at 06:30 pm.
The
leagues will run for a period of 7 weeks prior to
Christmas, with the final game in the first round being
Thursday December 14th, 2006.
The
second round will commence Thursday January 11th,
2007 and will run through until Thursday February 22nd,
2007.
There
will be a “Finals Day” that will, dependent on
Council requirements, be held on Thursday March 1st,
2007.
The
format of the Finals Day will be passed on to all teams
prior to the end of the second round.
Rules
for Otahuhu United AFC Summer Soccer 2006/07:
-
Game
duration is 40 minutes, per game, with no half-time
break. Games will start with the “Hooter” and
finish with the “Hooter”. The only additional
time allowed is for the taking of a penalty.
-
In the Mixed
league, there must be a minimum of 3 female players
on the field at all times. This number does not
include the goalkeeper.
-
When the
ball goes over the sideline, the game will restart
with a kick from the ground where the ball went out.
There will not be any throw-ins.
-
When the
ball goes over the goal-line, play will restart from
the goalkeepers hands (it must be thrown by the
keeper) for a goal kick. If a corner kick is
awarded, this will be taken from the corner flag
closest to where the ball went out of play.
-
Only the
goalkeeper is allowed in the penalty box at any
time. If the opposition step into the penalty box, a
free throw will be awarded to the defending team,
with the restart of play the same as for a goal
kick. If any player from the defending team steps
into the penalty box, a penalty will be awarded to
the attacking team.
-
The
goalkeeper is not allowed out of the penalty box.
Should this occur, a penalty will be awarded to the
attacking team.
-
The
goalkeeper is only allowed to pick up the ball
should one of the opposition have made the last
contact prior to the ball going into the penalty
box. The goalkeeper may not pick up the ball if the
defending team has passed the ball into the penalty
box. This includes headers and passes from the chest
or thigh. A pass to the goalkeeper from the
defending team, that is handled by the goalkeeper
will lead to the award of a penalty to the attacking
team. A pass into the penalty box from the defending
team must be kicked out by the goalkeeper, within a
timeframe of six seconds.
-
A goal is
deemed to have been scored, if, in the opinion of
the referee, the whole of the ball has crossed the
whole of the goal-line. If an attacking player
successfully scores a goal and his or her momentum
carries that player into the penalty box, a goal
will be awarded, provided the scoring motion
occurred outside of the penalty area.
-
There are no
offsides.
-
Team cards
must be completed prior to the start of the game.
Players must be listed and the team cards handed to
the referee before kick-off. Teams contravening the
Competition format may be deducted any points that
they earned during that particular game in which the
infraction was noted.
-
The Laws of
Football will be enforced by the Referees. This
includes yellow or red cards issued by the referee.
Two yellow cards received in the same match will
lead to a red card, which carries with it a
suspension of one match, such suspension to be
invoked at the next match. Should a player receive a
yellow card, that player will be placed in the
“sin-bin” for a period of 5 minutes. That player
may not be replaced with a substitute during that
time, however, should it be the goalkeeper, then
another player already on the field will be
permitted to take over as goalkeeper during the 5
minute sin-binning.
-
Rolling
Substitutions will only be permitted at halfway and
only after the ball is out of play. The substituted
player must leave the field before the substitute
enters.
